The Zebra DS6878 takes bar code scanning to the next level, allowing workers to scan all common barcode types, 1D, 2D amd stacked types, faster and farther cordless with a barcode reader that is a durable, future-proof device and delivers an outstanding total cost of ownership solution. Workers can move within a 50 ft./15 m radius to scan items — and the elimination of hazardous cables creates a safer work environment.

Allowing workers to scan faster and farther capture virtually any bar code — including the typical bar codes that are printed on paper labels, electronic bar codes displayed on the screen of a mobile phone, tablet or computer allows retailers to easily process loyalty cards, mobile coupons and more, as well as the high density (HD) bar codes commonly used in electronic component manufacturing.

The optional hands-free presentation cradle enables additional advanced capabilities, including: the ability to capture signatures, documents and photographs; optical character recognition (OCR) to capture the text in documents; and MICR to capture the numeric information on the bottom of checks. Electronic record keeping is enriched and checks can be instantly converted to electronic debit transactions, reducing the time and cost associated with processing paper checks as well as the risk of check fraud.

From cashiers moving around the register to scan large, heavy items and check for missed items, to healthcare workers double checking that the right patient is receiving the right medication, integrated Bluetooth provides reliable and secure wireless transmission of data between the scanner and your host.
