Privacy Statement


At UMD, we are committed to protecting your personal information. We recognise that your privacy is very important to you and that you have a right to control your personal information. Unless you give explicit consent to act otherwise, the following policies will govern how UMD will use and safeguard your privacy.

Collecting information about you

UMD will not collect or monitor any personal information about you without your consent unless we believe it is necessary:

  • as required by law.
  • to provide you with a service that you have requested.
  • to protect the rights and property of UMD, any UMD customer, or any member of the public..

You may provide UMD with information directly, such as completing the UMD Registered Dealer Application Form DOC-SF-154, completing our Service On-Line web site form, subscribing to newsletter/e -mail lists or identifying yourself when using particular services. The amount and type of information collected depends upon the services used. The only personal information collected is what you provide.

Information logged

Our web server(s) log the following information which is provided by your browsers and is used for statistical purposes only:

  • the type of browsers and operating system you are using;
  • the IP address used;
  • the address of the referring site;
  • the date and time of the visit; and
  • the address of the information accessed or downloaded.

In addition, search terms that you enter are collected but are not associated with any other information collected. We use these search terms to enable us to improve the services that we provide.

Our email server(s) log the following information:

  • sender and recipient's e-mail address
  • date and time of transmission
  • e-mail subject, size and unique message identification

In addition, the content of e-mail messages and attachments are checked for inappropriate material, such as viruses or foul language.

Use of cookies

Cookies are files that a web-site transfers to your computer for record-keeping purposes, often to enhance or customise what is offered or displayed. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies. However, if you do not wish to accept cookies you may configure your browsers to reject cookies. In some instances that may mean that you will not be able to take full advantage of some aspects of the UMD services.

Unsolicited Promotional e-mail

UMD will send you unsolicited advertising e-mail without first asking whether you wish to receive promotional information. If you no longer wish to receive promotional information you may remove your name from the list by either following the removal instructions or e-mailing us at reception@umd.com.au requesting to be removed from the mailing list. Please allow seven (7) days for this request to be completed.

UMD provides links to other web sites. UMD is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these sites.

Using and disclosing your personal information

UMD will not use or disclose any information about you without your consent unless:

  • required to by law.
  • we believe it necessary to provide you with a service you have requested.
  • to protect the rights and property of UMD, any UMD customer, or any member of the public.
We know that providing personal information is an act of trust that UMD takes seriously. We will not disclose your personal information to any third parties without your explicit consent.

Storage and Security of your personal information

UMD will endeavor to take all reasonable steps to keep secure any information which we hold about you and to keep this information accurate and up-to-date. Your information is stored on secured servers that are protected in controlled facilities. Our employees are obliged to respect the confidentiality of any personal information held by UMD. However, UMD will not be held accountable for events arising from unauthorised access to your personal information.

You can assist by ensuring the confidentiality of any passwords and accounts is maintained.

Changing or deleting your personal information

To update or delete your personal information please send any corrections to reception@umd.com.au. You will need to provide your first and last names, company name, contact phone number and e-mail address. We will take all reasonable steps to meet any request to have personal information deleted unless it is required for legal reasons.
