UMD - Model 853A Series
Integrated UHF RFID Reader

The UMD M853A is a UHF RFID Reader with an integrated Antenna for no-fuss setup. It has the ability to communicate over Ethernet, or Wi-Fi.

It is based on the Zebra RE40 OEM UHF RFID Reader module which comes in two or four port versions. Maximum RFID transmit power is +27dBm (0.5W).

The M853A can be configured using a web browser via its internal Wi-Fi Hotspot, or via the connected LAN network.

The M853A optionally includes a Time of Flight distance sensor used for automated start-stop reading of passing items, without the need of a reflector.

Utilising the Lua scripting environment, applications are readily developed by UMD, or system integrators, and simply downloaded into the M853. Cloud connectivity to enable remote management and upgrades of firmware and applications will be available soon!

Features

  • Lua script interpreter environment inbuilt
  • Full customisation of the raw RFID data is possible to transform the data into custom formats and destinations
  • Built in communications to UMD’s Chariot Broker for sophisticated solutions, such as UMD RACE
  • Full customisation in interfacing with your own applications using HTTP, or other API's by request
  • Designed and built in Australia
